Greg Smith and Collen Newberry have over 46 years of combined experience in the motion picture industry. They work on feature films, episodic television, TV commercials and corporate content production. In January 2017 they joined in starting a grip and lighting equipment rental company called Elevation Grip.
Greg began working in the Seattle film market in 1990. Over the course of his career he was a 3 term President of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) local 488 as well as a Governor-appointed board member of Washington Filmworks, an organization devoted to economic development and job creation in the motion picture industry. Greg is a lifelong resident of Washington State and a graduate of the University of Washington. He enjoys spending time with his family at their home in University Place and being outdoors camping and boating in the Pacific Northwest.
Collen began working in the entertainment industry at age 13 as a stagehand on plays and dance showcases. After going to University to study film and video production he moved from Michigan to Seattle in 1994 and started working on his first feature film. Since then Collen has worked on feature films, television shows and hundreds of commercials for the past 21 years. Collen lives in the Greenwood neighborhood and is married and has four children.
